I highly recommend that everyone read Black Like Us, it is an Anthology featuring GLB African Americans from the late 1800s until today. It features Zora Neale Hurston, Angelina Weld Grimke, Langston Hughes, Countee Cullen, James Baldwin, E. Lynn Harris, April Sinclair, and several more phenomenal authors.
