Collective thoughts

"If you havent lived how can you teach someone about life? If you havent walked in someone's shoes and been in a similar circumstance how can you judge..." (My thoughts)

I.)

My fore-fathers fought your wars
with promises of better days.
You let the flood gates open and the raiders raid
on our parade, nothing is left but tar filled soars.
These are our victories
shared together in perfect harmony.
Yes, that statement is sugar coated most definitely;
but it would be nice if you took miseries, seriously.
History should be shared history,
intertwined information,
but your ignorance seperates
and aggrravates all confusion.
So I, came to this conclusion,
you build up massive walls
to keep out the unwanted.
But are not the unwanted the ones who built the foundation for your walls.
The unwanted walks away,
peacefully,
laughing at your bullshit
because your wall just crumbled
nothing is left but a shitty pile of bricks.

II.)

Its official people
read it, hot off the press
McCarthyism kills the Harlem Renaissance.
That is the greatest and most influential era
it can not end, where will all the beauty of life go?
Will it die behind your lifeless tall-tales?
Will it rot in cells of falsehoods?
I call it hell
but can't paint the picture.
No, not due to obscurity,
who the hell is left good enough to paint such a drama.
Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Countee Cullen
do you know who they are?
Do you know what you have silenced?
Some of my own don't give a damn
because all was ignorant.
Having a voice in history
in all memory
being sacrificed to subject ourselves
to what exactly, the majority.
Self-hatred gets you nowhere
hatred of any sorts does not either.
McCarthyism pulls everything
through ropes and wires.
Turning neighbors into foes,
intelligence now foolishness,
who is this guy you designed?
Is he the reason why no more tears are left to be cried, only fears.
I have heard enough.
Times is rough,
What happened to the original Cotton Club,
where is Duke Ellington?
We need a new tune.

III.)

Hound dog the new hit by Elvis Presley
Yeah, if Big Mama Thorton did not write it first.
The king of Rock and Roll
Yeah, if B.B. King and Little Richard did not do it first.
music of all things
something that brings people together
divided by what
haven't discovered it yet because it still lives.

IV.)

Coretta Scott King
forelongs the dream
she spoke out about everything
never a shadow only the misinformed say such.
Equality for all brothers and sisters.
Giving a name to all faces
because we are all God's children
the matriarch, the one willing
to do what ever it takes to be an example.
Her resume speaks for itself
the first to speak out about Vietnam,
when Stonewall hit
best believe she did not sit
and watch it continue.
She walked beside them all differences aside.
Freedom rides for all.
A phenomenal woman
a role model, my hero,
no idolization or imitations necessary
her legacy not only lives but thrives.

V.)

Pat Parker, Audre Lorde, Cheryl Clarke
little unknown to many
but one day their legacy will lie with in me
the torch passed down to me
I will respect it with the pride it deserves.

VI.)

The beautiful Shay Youngblood
taught a blood, how her coffee should be kept.
Words are simply undescrible
yet alone undeniable
that day my heart melt
because i never felt so touched.

VII.)

My interpretation
no degradation
I will leave the immaturity to you cowards.
Wake- up and smell the flowers
a new day and new age
rhetorics of ignorance and prejudices
freezes over
never felt anything more colder.
The bold ones
evade thoughts
never to differentiate betweem fact and opinion
all is bullshit and fiction.
But you still need reason,
believe me and my words,
Prejudices are tools for people
who have more issues with in themselves
then they do towards the ones they judge
faulty bullshit should be left unheard.
